Carly McNaul, Dervla Duffy, Kellie Harrington, Grainne Walsh and Christina Desmond left Dublin Airport for a training camp in France this morning ahead of the start of the European Union Women’s Championships in Italy next month.

The squad will train and spar with the host nation, Italy, Hungary, Poland and Turkey in Nancy.

The rest of the panel for the European Union Championships will train at the High-Performance Unit in Abbotstown.

The European Union Women’s Championships, which is returning after a three-year gap, begins on August 3rd.

The last boxer to hold the EU lightweight title was Katie Taylor, who has since switched codes.
