200 girls take part in Belfast Try It! Boxing event and female sports forum.

Over 120 second level students from 5 Belfast schools have taken part in in combined boxing and education event, as part of International Women’s Day festivities.

The schools coaching event Lisnasharragh Leisure Centre is part of the Belfast Boxing Strategy. The day began with the students taking part in a non-contact boxing session, delivered by IABA staff coaches along with club coaches from across Belfast and Ulster.

The boxing session was followed by a series of activities and information sessions on nutrition, mental health, exercise, recruitment, further education and more.

The Lord Mayor of Belfast, Sport NI, Belfast City Council, Antrim Boxing Council, Ulster Boxing Council, and the Female Sports Forum were all in attendance.
