Shauna O’Keeffe and Amy Broadhurst after tonight’s semi-final
Tipperary lightweight Shauna O’Keeffe will meet World Elite finalist Kellie Harrington for the lightweight belt vacated by Katie Taylor at the National Elite finals next Friday.
O’Keeffe, who was beaten by Taylor – who has since turned pro – in the 2015 final, scored a unanimous decision over ex-European Youth champion Amy Broadhurst in tonight’s 60kg semi-final at the National Stadium in Dublin.
Elite Schoolboys Squad Training for last year’s Boy 3 and Boy 4 Champions plus Cadet Champions at those ages will take place tomorrow in the High-Performance Gym at the National Boxing Stadium starting at 11am.
Boxers are asked to present with full training gear which includes good quality 16oz sparring gloves, bag gloves, a headguard, groinguard, wraps, gumshield, skipping rope, and water for two sessions. A change of clothes is desirable also.
Training will be over at approximately 3:30pm.
