The first Female Seminar at the National Stadium in Dublin on Saturday was an informative and educational success, according to Geraldine McTavish, Club Development Manager with the Irish Athletic Boxing Association.

Antoinette Faye, Ireland’s leading female seconds and Youth & Junior High-Performance coach, got proceedings underway at IABA headquarters. read more

ELITE SCHOOLBOY TRAINING

gloves Elite Schoolboys Squad Training continues tomorrow Sunday, for all last seasons Boy 3 and Boy 4 Champions plus Cadet Champions at those ages.

Training starts at 11am and ends at 3:30pm (approximately).

Boxers are required to have full training gear which includes 16oz sparring gloves, bag gloves, a headguard, groinguard, wraps, gumshield, skipping rope, and water for two sessions. A change of clothes is desirable also.

Dinner will be served between the two sessions. read more

IMPRESSIVE WIN FOR IRELAND IN WOKING

Team Ireland, pictured above, beat a talented England Southern Counties squad away from home last night.

The visitors emerged 6-4, with current Irish Elite champion Martin Keenan, Peter Carr, Thomas O’Toole, Rhys Moran, Caoimhin Agyarko-Hynes and Frankie Cleary winning in Woking.

Keenan and Moran earned unanimous decisions and Moran a split on the outskirts of London. read more

Team Ireland and England Southern Counties weighed-in this morning ahead of tonight’s meeting in Woking..

Boxing begins at 7.30pm.

Frankie Cleary could have a change of opponent. The entire card and running order will be confirmed shortly.

This evening’s match will be decided over ten bouts. Ireland arrived in England yesterday and arrive home early tomorrow evening at 6.45pm  via Dublin Airport (Flight EI173). read more
