Six Irish boxers are in action in international competition this weekend.

Jordan Moore meets English flyweight William Cawley for at least bronze at the European U/22 Championships in Braila, Romania on Saturday.

Moore will be in the ring at approximately 12.45pm (Irish time) tomorrow. Dylan Duffy and Keith Flavin box Sunday in Braila.

Irish captain Aaron McKenna and Gabriel Dossen joined Cork’s Eamer Coughlan in Saturday’s Pavlyukov Youth Memorial semi-finals following top drawer performances in Anapa, Russia today.

The Monaghan and Galway duo are now, along with Coughlan, guaranteed at least bronze.

World Youth bronze medallist Dossen beat Armenian welter Toni Galstyan and McKeena followed that with a convincing victory of Tyler Jolly in the light-welter class.

The Olympic BC held their St Patrick’s show at their clubhouse last night.

A Galway Select team took on a strong Welsh Select squad at Olympic BC Galway with Galway coming away with a 7-6 victory.

6-6 going into the final contest last night before Galway captain Edward Barrett pulled off a 2-1 split decision win over Welsh Champion and Team Captain Jordan Whiters ensuring Galway came away with overall Team Victory and that bout earning Barrett and Whiters best home and away boxers.

Nine Irish boxers will be between the ropes in separate tournaments on St Patrick’s Day 2017.

Three-time Irish Elite champion Kurt Walker, Dylan Duffy, Keith Flavin, Keylan Cassidy and Brian Kennedy are in last-16 action at the European U/22 Championships in Braila, Romania.
