The tournament runs from Tuesday, April 18th to Saturday, April 22nd inclusive.
IRISH AND ULSTER SQUADS IN TRAINING CAMP
The Irish and Ulster High-Performance squads are being put through their paces this week at the University of Ulster in Jordanstown.
Ireland is building toward June’s European Elite Men’s Championships in the Ukraine.
The tournament will act as the only qualifier for the World Elite Championships in Hamburg in August/September.
RUSSIAN MEMORIAL COMPLETE RESULTS
Team Ireland finished in 4th spot in the medals table at the recent Pavlyukov Youth Memorial in Russia.
Irish captain Aaron McKenna, Gabriel Dossen and Eamer Coughlan claimed gold, silver and bronze at the tournament.
Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Ireland, in that order, commanded the top four positions in the medals table.
MCCOMB ENJOYING THE 64KG CLASS
Sean McComb believes it’s harder to medal at the World Elite Championships than the Olympics.
“There’s not the same publicity with a world medal as an Olympic medal but it’s 10 times harder to win,” the Holy Trinity light-welter told today’s Irish News in the countdown to the World Elites in Hamburg, Germany in August/September.
GIRLS YOUTH AND JUNIOR COMPETITION
The Girls Youth and Junior Competition finals will be decided Friday, March 31st, at the Ringside Club at Dublin’s National Stadium.
Boxing begins at 6pm.
All finalists must weigh-in Friday. Weigh-in times – 8am to 9am and 12pm to 1pm at the National Stadium.
