The International Boxing Association (AIBA) has increased its quotas for the 2018 World Men’s and Women’s Youth Championships, according to a notice on its website.
“The decision was made to accommodate the increasing interest expressed by the National Federations to take part of the Championships with the aim of developing the young generation of boxers,” AIBA explained.
The World Youths begin in Budapest, Hungary on August 20.
The original quota for men was 244 but is now 300 and the quota for women increases from 174 to 200.
Europe (men) – increase from 70 to 86 with additional 16 quotas.
Europe (women) – increase from 52 to 60 with additional 8 quotas.
