24 boxing clubs, all of whom applied via IABA in August, have been awarded a combined €60,000 in funding by Sport Ireland through the Sport for All Disability Supports Club Fund.
The fund gives grassroots sports clubs an opportunity to initiate or build upon disability specic activities within their clubs. Clubs will have the opportunity to facilitate exciting initiatives and projects that will promote sport and physical activity for all in society.
The funds will be used to support new or existing named projects in each of the successful clubs, and can be used towards:
*Disability specic training and education.
*Commencement or expansion of a disability specic programme or project.
*The purchase of equipment of the completion of small scale infrastructure works that support a disability specic programme or project.
The Disability Club Fund of €2.2m will see in excess of 1,000 Grassroots Clubs receive support from Sport Ireland through the Dormant Accounts Fund at a local level.
