31 nations are taking part, in all: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and Wales.
48kg Shannon Sweeney won’t box until Monday’s afternoon session, where she’ll meet Armenia. Light fly, Caitlin Fryers, also waits until Monday, when she contests against England in the evening session.
Commonwealth Games silver medallist at 50kg, Carly McNaul, opens her account in Saturday’s afternoon session against Romania; while Olympian and Commonwealth Games champion, Micheala Walsh has a 1st round preliminaries bye – she gets underway against France on Saturday.
World Champion, Amy Broadhurst, takes on Turkey in Sunday’s evening session. Welterweight, Kaci Rock, has a preliminaries bye and begins her competition in the Quarter Finals, one win away from a medal, against Germany on Wednesday.
Tina Desmond meets Ukraine in Sunday’s evening session, while Olympian Aoife O’Rourke is in action in the same day’s afternoon session, against Greece.
