IABA Launches Women In Sport Week Calendar.

IABA is delighted to launch boxing’s calendar of events for Women in Sport Week, March 7th to 14th, and is inviting all clubs and boxers to get involved and #FollowHerLead

WIS Week is aimed at increasing the participation of women and girls in all aspects of boxing – participation, competing, coaching, spectating and sports administration, and highlight the contribution of women and girls in boxing.

Tuesday:

The women of the High Performance Unit will celebrate the women that inspire them in videos on all IABA social media platforms throughout International Women’s Day.

Over 60 boxing clubs have already registered for the Menstruation and Nutrition Seminar with Nutrition Coach, Stephen Floyd, taking place on IWD.

Wednesday:

The theme for Wednesday is participation, and Boxing Development Officer, Mags Cross, will release a boxing taster session on IABA’s YouTube channel

Thursday:

IABA will celebrate boxing’s Sport Ireland Women in Sport Leadership graduates and our Women’s Mentors across all IABA social media platforms

Friday:

IABA’s Sport Ireland Women in Sport Leadership graduates will share tips for clubs who wish to be more inclusive of women in coaching, competing, participating & administrating roles

Saturday:

We would be delighted if women and girl boxers, doing their roadwork on Saturday, would take a picture and share it on their social media using the hashtag #FollowHerLead and tag IABA on  Twitter: @IABABoxing and on Instagram: @BoxingIreland

Sport Ireland is also hosting a series of free events, and registration is now open:
