Sean McComb advanced to the last 16 of the European Men’s Elite Championships in Kharkiv, Ukraine today.
The Belfast light-welter scored an impressive unanimous decision over Erik Agateljan (Czech Republic) in the 64kg class.
A bronze medallist at the 2015 European Games, McComb will now meet the Russian No. 1 seed, Vitaly Dunaytsev, in the last 16 on Monday with a place at the World Championships in Hamburg, Germany in August/September up for grabs.
The top eight boxers in each weight in Kharkiv qualify for Hamburg.
Kurt Walker and Rio Olympian Steven Donnelly are in action tomorrow.
