Dear members,
Please be advised that despite some confusion around the upcoming Provincial Championships, the Officer Board will be hosting the Leinster Championships this weekend in St. Michaels Athy (and Connacht Championships next weekend in St. Annes, Westport).
This is the only Championships in which boxers can qualify to go forward to the All-Ireland Boy/Girl 1 & 2’s. The reason for this is that the current Leinster Council (Connacht Council) are not affiliated or insured to run any events at present.
The draw for the Leinster Championships will take place on Friday afternoon (at a time to be confirmed) and a link will be sent to all the email addresses for boxers entered so that they can watch the draw live. Members need to download the free Microsoft Teams app to avail of this live link. The draw for the Connacht Championships will be announced at a later date.
Boxing in Leinster will commence in St. Michaels Athy this coming Saturday, 13th November and Sunday, 14th November. Times of boxing will be confirmed to all entrants following the draw.
