EUROPEAN HOMECOMING TONIGHT

Irish squad

Team Ireland are scheduled to arrive home from the European Men’s Elite Championships in Kharkiv, Ukraine at 10.50pm via Dublin Airport tonight, June 25th (Terminal 1).

All media are invited to attend tonight’s homecoming.

Joe Ward claimed his third gold European gold medal in Kharkiv yesterday and Brendan Irvine and Kurt Walker won double bronze.

Ward, Irvine, Walker and Sean McComb qualified for the World Championships in Hamburg, Germany in August-September at the 42nd edition of the Europeans.

Team Ireland finished in 4th spot in the medals table in Kharkiv, maintaining Irish boxing’s proud tradition of never finishing outside the top five in the medals table at the last five European Championships, and in 4th spot in the rankings table.
