But Irish captain Jordan Moore bowed out despite a top class performance against Romania’s Eusebi Jitaru in the bantam class.
Dossen’s slick counter-punching and jab took the first round against the durable Armenian. The second frame was untidy, but the Irish champion returned to his boxing to take the third and a 4-1 victory.
He’ll now meet Georgia’s Giorge Kharabadze, who was beaten by Ireland’s John Joyce in the last-four of the 2014 European Youths in Zagreb, on Thursday.
Moore boxed well in all three rounds of today’s encounter with the defending bantamweight champion, the Dubliner repeatedly clipping his aggressive opponent with single shots and combinations throughout, but Jitaru, whose best work was from close range, was awarded a unanimous decision.
Amy Broadhurst and Shannon Sweeney (to be confirmed) are in action tomorrow.
