EUROPEAN U/22 CHAMPIONSHIPS UPDATE

Irish Elite finalist Darryl Moran has withdrawn from the Irish squad for the European U/22 Championships after picking up a hand injury.

Irish head coach Zaur Antia, and Moran’s club coach at the Illies GG, Eamon Duffy, confirmed that the injury has ruled the Irish U/22 champion out of the 2nd edition of the European U/22s which begins in Brăila, Romania tomorrow.

Moran was training at his club early Sunday evening, in a session designed for weight management, when he picked up the injury.

The Irish squad fly out to Romania from Dublin Airport later this afternoon.
