IABA provides Disability Inclusion Training & Autism in Sport Training for Clubs.

IABA is delighted to make available two forms of Disability inclusion training, funded through Sport Ireland and delivered by Cara Sport Inclusion Ireland.

Disability Inclusion Training –

This workshop is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and ideas on how to adapt and modify your sport, physical activity or physical education sessions to make them more accessible and inclusive for people with disabilities.

Attendees will be engaged through interactive group work, theory content and will be introduced to adaptation tools which will be applied to a variety of games and activities on how to make these inclusive for all ability groups.

On completion of the workshop all participants will receive a Cara Certificate of Attendance endorsed by Sport Ireland, a resource manual and a games booklet full of fun inclusive activities.

Date: Monday, September 26th

Time: 7pm – 9.30pm

Location: Zoom

Autism in Sport Training

This online workshop will provide attendees with an understanding of Autism focussing on the delivery of sport.

It will help participants to recognise and understand key areas of difference as well as looking at practical strategies which will help to include people with autism in sport sessions.

Date: Wednesday, September 28th

Time: 7pm-9.30pm

Location: Zoom

The training is being made available in recognition of the fact that many boxing clubs are already providing training to boxers with additional needs or would like to begin doing so.

The training is open to Level One coaches, or above, in fully affiliated clubs. Clubs may book one place at each training session.

Cara Sport Inclusion Ireland places a limit on the number of participants at each training session, so book your place early! As places are limited, clubs and coaches are asked only to book if their nominated participant is available on the evening.

Dependent on demand for Disability Inclusion Training and/or Autism in Sport Training, IABA hopes to be able to provide additional training sessions in the coming weeks. This series of training follows on from the provision of Disability Inclusion Training to High Five Boxing Academy Clubs in recent weeks
