Election results were read today, as part of the IABA’s EGM, in Roscommon. The newly formed Officer Board of the Central Council includes Vice President, Tom Ward.
National Secretary is Antoinette Fay McClean. Outgoing Treasurer, Larry Morrison, was returned unopposed.

Attire: Boxers with long hair must wear hairnets or swimming hats under their headgear. Long sleeved tops are not permitted under vests. Head-guards are put on prior to entering the ring.
No Red, Pink or Orange Gum shields.
Coaches: They must wear full tracksuits and runners at all sessions in the corner.No shorts, caps or hats are permitted. Coaches must endeavour to set a high standard ofhygiene at all times.
Sportsmanship: All decisions must be accepted in a sporting manner. Any complaints must be addressed to the Chief Official, Mr Stephen Connolly. Please show respect to all ringside officials.
Conduct: Please be advised that Clubs will be held responsible for the conduct of theirsupporters throughout these Championships.

An historic number of clubs have registered delegates to attend the Extraordinary General Meeting of the IABA, taking place on at 11am on Sunday, July 10th, in Roscommon, Co. Roscommon. Registration closed at midday today.
In all, 132 clubs out of a total of 338 clubs affiliated by June 30th, have indicated their intention to attend. This represents 39% of clubs affiliated by June 30th. A list of clubs which have registered to attend the EGM is attached.
In reflection of the record number of attendees, and the EGM will now take place in Roscommon Gaels GAA Club, at Dr. Hyde Park. Athlone Rd, Roscommon Town. In the interest of health and safety, in particular the current huge rise in Covid cases we feel this decision is in the best interest of our members and the GAA Hall being used will allow for people to adequately socially distance, should they so wish. The GAA Hall is just 900 metres from Hannon’s Hotel, which will continue to provide catering, refreshments and ancillary support services to the EGM and delegates.

Registration: All delegates, voting and non-voting, must register their attendance at the EGM. Registration will take place at Roscommon Gaels GAA Club, at Dr. Hyde Park. Athlone Rd, Roscommon Town on Sunday, July 10th between 10am and 11.10am. In order to facilitate the smooth operation of voting, no attendees will be permitted to enter after 11.10am.
Quorum: 60 affiliated Member Clubs present represented in person by their delegates. Motions One and Two will required 75% approval of the voting delegates present in order to pass.
The purpose of this EGM is to consider the following two motions:
Motion 1:
“That the Company Constitution and the Company Rulebook 2019 be amended to reflect the Recommendations of the Governance Review as they relate specifically to the composition of the Board of Directors.”
Motion 2:
“That Articles 5 and 73(e) of the Articles of Association of the Company Constitution be amended to replace the word “State” with “Island of Ireland.”
