Level 1 Coach Education Course Assessments

TO ALL COACHES who have completed a Level 1 Coach Education Course from 2016,2017,and 2018 but have yet to complete their assessment.

If you are still involved with your club can you please return your assessment forms, signed by your club secretary/head coach and the €30 fee so I can have you registered on Sport Ireland’s database

We have made a number of attempts to facilitate you in this regard but for various reasons you have been unable to participate

Please note that if on this occasion the completed forms are not returned by the 30th November 2018 for the attention of Stephen Connolly, National Stadium, 145 South Circular Road, Dublin 8 your name will be deleted and you will not be permitted to carry out any duties as a coach.

ELITE SCHOOLBOY TRAINING

 

Elite Schoolboys Squad training for Boy 3 and Boy 4 Champions plus any Cadet Champions at those ages in 2018 will take place this Sunday, November 11th, at the National Boxing Stadium from 11am – 3:30pm.

Boxers are advised to bring their full training gear including good quality 16oz sparring gloves, bag gloves, skipping rope, headguard, groin guard, gumshield, wraps and water for two sessions.

Any boxer unable to attend squad training should contact the schoolboys boxing coordinator Paddy Gallagher at paddythegaa59@gmail.com or 087-6286269.

 

IRELAND DUE HOME FROM GERMANY TONIGHT

 

Team Ireland, pictured, are scheduled to return home home from Germany tonight after completing a ten-day training camp in preparation for the AIBA World Women’s Elite Championships in India

The six-strong team trained with the host nation, Greece, Great Britain, Sweden and USA at the German Olympic and Paralympic Sport Centre in Kienbaum, about 35km east of Berlin.

The squad finished their final session this morning.

The Championships begin in New Delhi on November 15.

Approximately 300 boxers from 70 nations will compete at the 10th edition of the tournament.

Irish boxing, courtesy of Katie Taylor and Kellie Harrington, who is included on the 2018 panel, has medalled at every World Women’s Championships since 2006.

The squad fly out to New Delhi next Sunday.

The Ulster Elite Open begins at the Dockers Club in Belfast on January 7.

The weigh-ins for the tournament will be held in Dublin, Belfast Donegal, Derry Omagh, Monaghan and Down on January 6.
