John Joyce got Ireland off to a winning start at the European Youth Championships in Kolobrzeg, Poland today.
The St Michael’s Athy middleweight beat Greece’s Andreas Kayzourakis on a unanimous decision to book his ticket into the last 16.
“A very controlled and focused performance,” said Irish team manager Brian Wallace from ringside at the Millenium Arena in Kolobrzeg.
