  • Coach registration is required. If you have not already done so, please send the names of coaches attending to secretary@iaba.ie. Registered coaches will be given wristbands to allow them to enter the field of play & changing areas. These can be collected only by the coach at the top table.
  • Garda Vetting / Access NI Checks will be completed for every coach. If your details are out of date, you will not be permitted to enter the field of play. For more details regarding this please contact IABA National Safeguarding Manager, Stephen Flynn: stephen@iaba.ie
  • The withdrawal of any boxer must be notified to the National Registrar, Stephen Connolly, phone: 086 1546746.
  • Entry Fee of €15 is to be paid at the weigh in on the first day of boxing. Boxers must bring their record book.
  • Boxers will weigh-in only on the day they box. Times: Friday 8am to 9am & 12pm to 1pm / Saturday & Sunday 8am to 9am
  • Any club making an entry to the championships affirms that the entrant is not a member of any other club, in any jurisdiction.
  • Any misbehaviour or misuse of social media in a negative manner from members of any club relating to a boxer/coach/official will be referred to the IABA Discipline Officer under the IABA Complaints and Discipline Code, communicated to all clubs on May 17th 2024.

150 girls take part in Fundamentals of Boxing Day.

Through the Belfast City’s Boxing Strategy and in celeration of International Women’s Day 2025, our community development coaches Patrick Gallagher & Brendan Irvine, in conjunction with local club coaches ran a Schools Dundamentals of Boxing Day with four schools from across Belfast.

Over 150 girls attended the event learning new skills, meeting new friends, and were signposted by coaches to clubs in their local areas.

A great day was had by all!

Registration Open: Deaf Disability Awareness Training

IABA’s Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Officer Patrick Adejayan, is providing comprehensive online Deaf Disability Awareness Training program, through a partnership with Deaf Sport Ireland.

Attendance for members has been fully funded by IABA’s Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Office.

This initiative aims to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills to better understand the challenges faced by individuals with hearing disabilities. Through a series of engaging modules, attendees will learn about effective communication strategies, the importance of accessibility, and ways to create a more inclusive environment. By investing in this training, IABA reinforces its commitment to fostering a diverse community where everyone feels valued and respected.

Attendees will be engaged through interactive group work and theory content and will be introduced to adaptation tools. These tools will be applied to a variety of games and activities to make them inclusive for all ability groups.

After completing the workshop, participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance and a resource manual for inclusive activities.

Registration open: Wheelchair Accessibility Awareness training.

IABA’s Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Officer, Patrick Adejayan, has commissioned and is funding the Irish Wheelchair Association to deliver in-person wheelchair accessibility awareness training on Tuesday, April 8th.

The 3-hour Accessibility Awareness (In-Person) Training introduces participants to the key principles of Universal Access, Universal Design, Disability Access Certificates and Access Auditing to ensure all aspects of the built environment are accessible.

This practical workshop is highly interactive, with videos, discussions, case studies, design appraisals, route appraisals, problem-solving of everyday scenarios, examples of everyday barriers faced by people with disabilities and more.

After completing the workshop, participants will receive an Irish Wheelchair Association Certificate of Attendance and a resource manual for inclusive activities.
