Team Ireland have notched up 2 more medals, and four wins at the European U15 Championships in Montenegro.

Team Ireland’s 42kg Ronan Charles has won at least a bronze medal, following his dominant 5-0 quarter final win over Latvia’s Denis Haschenk. Judges scored the bout 26:30; 26:30; 25:30; 26:30; 24:30; Ronan is back in action on Friday, boxing for a place in the finals against Romana’s Rusu Ioan Auras Cantar

Team Ireland’s 44kg Pa Casey is assured of a bronze, at minimum, following his 5-0 Last 16 win over Poland’s Dominik Drewnowski. The final scores were: 28:29; 27:30; 28:29; 27:30; 28:29.Pa will box for a place in the finals on Thursday, against England’s Thomas Catanach

52kg Patrick Hourican is through to the quarter finals of the European U15 Championships, following a 4-1 split decision win over Martin Aron Homai of Hungary in his Last 16 bout. Judges scored the bout 30:27; 28:29; 28:29; 27:30; 27:30. Patrick is back in action, boxing for a medal, on Wednesday.

57kg Kieran McDonagh has won through to the quarter finals with a 5-0 victory over Israel’s Mokbel Kadry. Judges scored the bout 28:29; 27:30; 28:29; 27:30; 28:29. Kieran boxes his semi final on Wednesday, against Turkey’s Akdamar Vesim Varcin.

66kg Eddie Sweeney exits the European U15 Championship on the narrowest of margins: a 3-2 split. He contested his Last 16 bout against Tadeas Jasek of Czech Republic. In this close contest, the decision went to the Czech boxer.

369 boxers including 131 girls and 138 boys from 32 nations are competing in this record-breaking European U15 Boxing Championships. Five Team Ireland women box for medals on Tuesday – there are two sessions tomorrow. The Afternoon Session begins at 1pm, and the Evening Session gets underway at 5pm.

40kg Ellie May Featherson of Mulhuddart BC, Dublin has a bye and begins her tournament at quarter today against Julie Stara of the Czech Republic. That’s Bout 3 of the Afternoon Session. 42kg Rosaletta Casey, Portlaoise BC, Loais also has a bye, and will box Poland’s Alicja Laniecka in Bout 6 of the same session. 46kg Kenia Flood Prado takes on Poland’s Amelia Joachimska in Bout 12. Three bouts later, in Bout 15, 48kg Macie Duffy O’Connor meets Yagmur Çoskun of Turkey.

44kg Ava Harford, Phoenix of Ballyboughal BC, Dublin begins her campaign at quarter final stage in a weight of 8 boxers. She meets Hungary’s Viktória Nagy in Bout 3 of the Evening Session. 4 bouts later, in Bout 7, 52kg Ellie Curtain Murray, Golden Gloves BC, Cork takes on Chanel Pascali of Italy. 54kgCharley Scott is in action against the Czech Republic’s Rozalie Uhrova in Bout 15. 60kg Maicey Field, Baldoyle BC, Dublin meets Israel’s Sendy Tayber in Bout 18.
