IABA STARTBOX A BIG HIT IN SOUTH DUBLIN

Another successful – and very busy – IABA StartBox session was run today at St Finians National  School in Newcastle, South Dublin.

The Start Box Initiative, a partnership between the IABA and Dublin City Council represents an ideal way to first engage with amateur boxing through the communities of Dublin. 2,500 young people engage in StartBox each year with another 1,500 engaging in the Summer Aviva StartBox experience.

James Geraghty, IABA Club Development Officer, thanked all for their contribution and involvement after today’s session.

“Serious energy shown by all the 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th classes,” he said.

“Thanks to South Dublin County Sport Partnership, Eed Griffin from IABA Dublin Boxing Development, St. Finians National School in Newcastle staff especially coordinator Sarah Mooney and Principal Jonathan Loftus and most importantly all of the pupils!”
