We are pleased to announce our upcoming Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) training tailored specifically for Sports Coaches and those working in the community in sports settings. This two-day course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to support young athletes’ mental health, ensuring a safe and supportive environment within your sports programs.

Youth Mental Health First Aid training from Mental Health First Aid Ireland is designed for adults who live with, work with, or support young people aged between 12 and 18.

This course teaches participants how to assist a young person who may be experiencing a mental health problem or crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves. The course uses a practical, evidence-based action plan and is ideal for parents/guardians, school staff, sports coaches, community group leaders, youth workers, and others who regularly interact with youth.

📅 Dates: Thursday and Friday, 05-06 September 2024
🕒 Time: 09:00 – 16:00 each day
💻 Format: Online via Zoom
💸 Cost: Fully funded by the HSE

Whether you’re a coach or someone who works in the community in sports settings, this course will enable you to identify, understand, and respond to mental health challenges among youth, enhancing your ability to guide them through both their physical and mental development.
