TEAM IRELAND GEAR UP FOR BULGARIAN TEST

Irish European squad

 

Team Ireland will have a light training session today ahead of the start of the European Junior Championships in Albena, Bulgaria tomorrow.

The Irish squad arrived in Albena last night.

Approximately 300 young boxers from 31 countries will compete at the 21st edition of the tournament.

Irish coach Billy McClean said that the team are eager to get in the ring and get their campaign underway.

The entire Irish squad are current National Senior Cadet champions.

 

Venue: Albena Sport Hall (Albena – Bulgaria).

Competition Period

Preliminaries: 18-22 September.
Rest day is on 23 September.
Semifinals are on 24 September.
Finals are on 25 September.

Boxing begins at 4.30pm each day – Bulgaria is two hours ahead of Ireland.
