3 Team Ireland Boxers In Action On Day 4 Of The European U22 Championships.

Welterweight Barry O’Connor banked his second win of the European U22 Championships, with a stylish performance against Bulgarian Stepan Kirkorov on day three of the tournament.

O’Connor’s unanimous decision win follows a 4-1 split decision win over Aljaz Sircelj in his debut on Day 2.

In all, 319 boxers from 39 countries are taking part in the championships, being hosted by the Croatian Boxing Federation in Poreč.

Three Team Ireland boxers are in action on Day Four, as the women’s competition begins.

48kg Nicole Clyde boxes out of the blue corner when she opens proceedings in Ring A’s Evening Session against Nicole Durikova of Slovakia.

Bantamweight Niamh Fay opens her account in bout 7 of the same ring and session against Ukraine’s Anastasia Lesinska.

Featherweight Zara Breslin faces Hungarian Beata Varga in Bout 3 of Ring B’s evening session.
