The AGM of the Irish Athletic Boxing Association will take place at midday, or shortly thereafter, on Saturday, December 7th at the National Stadium, Dublin.

There are 7 days remaining in which to register to attend.

Ordinary Resolution

As pledged at the IABA EGM on 12 October, a third phase of consultation on the IABA Rulebook has taken place. A two- phase formal consultation on the revision of the rulebook took place in November-December 2023 and June-July 2024. A 10-month information consultation was open between November 2023 and September 2024.

Over the course of the year-long consultation, contributors have included: the Defences Forces, Dom Robinson of South East Boxing Club/Wexford County Board; Philip Maguire of St. Brigid’s BC Kildare; Paddy Gallagher of Maynooth BC; Brian Sutton of Arbour Hill; Larry Morrison of Garda BC; Sean Allen of Arklow BC/Garda BC; David O’Brien of Kilcullen BC/Garda BC; Neil Gough of St. Paul’s BC Waterford; Gerard Fleming of Neilstown BC; Ronan Malone of Defence Forces BC; John King of Furbo BC; Ken Moore of St. Francis BC, Limerick; and James Reynolds of East Down ABC;

The revised rulebook was adopted by the Board of Directors on September 20th. At the IABA’s AGM on December 7th, clubs will be asked to vote on the Ordinary Resolution:

“Does your club approve the adoption of the IABA rulebook, as adopted by the Board of Directors on 20 September 2024, and it’s revisions, arising from a 3rd phase of consultation”

Registration

All clubs successfully affiliated for the 2024/2025 season are entitled to attend the AGM, and may send two delegates – one to be voting, and one non-voting delegate.  Delegates nominated by clubs must verified members – this means they must be included in the club’s affiliation application, through Blocworx, for the 2024/2025 season as members and be over the age of 18. *Please note, delegates will be required to present photographic identification (passport, drivers’ licence, etc) on the day of the AGM.
