AIBA WORLD WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIPS DRAW

 

Kellie Harrington opens Ireland’s campaign at the World Women’s Elite Championships in New Delhi, India on Friday.

The Dublin lightweight, a silver medalist at light-welter at the 2016 Worlds, meets New Zealand’s Troy Garton for a place in the last 16.

Ceire Smith, Michaela Walsh, Amy Broadhurst and Aoife O’Rourke are between the ropes on Saturday, while Grainne Walsh received a bye into the last 16.

Boxing at the 73-nation tournament begins tomorrow.

The opening ceremony is currently underway at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in the Indian capital.

New Delhi is five and a half hours head of Ireland.
