Almost 200 girls take part in boxing events as part of Girls Active Festival Sligo

193 girls participated in IABA boxing events at the Girls Active Festival in Sligo ATU yesterday.

Events like these are important in sharing the sheer fun of boxing training, and opening the doors of our sport to new communities.

Sessions were co-delivered by Sligo Boxing Development Officer Maeve Clarke, Galway Boxing Development Officer Adam Hession and Ballinacarrow BC Coach, Eamon Tighe.

The Girls Active programme, under the umbrella of Sport Ireland’s “Her Moves” campaign, is all about introducing less active teenage girls to new physical activities they might not normally try.
