The IABA’s board are seeking to appoint two new board members to ensure we have the capacity and skills to oversee the next phase of our work; to include an individual with experience of finance at a senior level and an individual who possesses one or more of the following skills and competencies; Corporate Governance/ Human Resources/Public Relations/ Former Irish Champion Boxer with extensive major international competition/experience. The roles are unpaid voluntary positions. Board members are expected to attend six – eight board meetings per year, but also to participate in the life of the organisation between board meetings, Board meetings are generally held weekday at the National Stadium currently by Zoom. Positions are advertised for a period of 2 years (term may be renewed).
Olympic Federation of Ireland announces the list of Executive Committee candidates
The Olympic Federation of Ireland (OFI) yesterday announced the list of candidates running for places on its Executive Committee to serve a four-year term through to 2024. Full candidate information and bios have published on https://elections.olympics.ie/
It is important at this time that the IABA plan for our future. Together, we would like to build a stronger Association, and to this end the IABA are compiling our strategy 2021-2025.
We would like as many people who are involved in boxing to participate in the consultation process. The consultation will comprise of: focus groups, online surveys, written submissions and meetings with key stakeholders. The next phase will be a meeting of the board in January to discuss proposals of our members and the overall plan will be launched early next year.
