Bring Your Smiley Faces: Olympic Champ Kellie Harrington To Co-Lead Ireland’s National St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Tokyo Olympic Champion, Kellie Harrington, and Tokyo Paralympic Champion, Ellen Keane, will be joint Grand Marshall’s at today’s National St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin.

St Patrick’s Festival organiser say Kellie and Ellen’s achievements “represent the very best of Ireland – strength, perseverance and generosity of spirit”.

 “They represent all who wear their Irishness with pride, uplifting our people, connecting us as a nation,”

“Ellen and Kellie reflect more than sporting achievement, they represent all our people whose talent and commitment to excellence brings pride to Ireland – sportspeople, artists, makers, creators, thinkers, dreamers, innovators, entrepreneurs and many more, from all realms of life.”

Kellie says its an honour and a privilege to co-lead the parade, the first in the City Centre in two years.

She says she is looking forward to “bring the magic back to the streets of Dublin”.\

The parade begins at midday on Parnell Square in the north of the city, down O’Connell Street, over O’Connell Bridge and through the south side of the city, ending at the Cuffe St/Kevin St junction
