Cork welter Christina Desmond is the second Irish boxer in action at the World Women’s Elites in Ulan-Ude, Siberia tomorrow.
The Macroom southpaw meets England’s Commonwealth Games champion Sandy Ryan for a place in the last 16.
Both women will be between the ropes in Ring B at approximately 12.30pm on Friday afternoon (Irish time).

Earlier today, Cavan flyweight Ceire Smith beat Australia’s Commonwealth bronze medallist Taylah Robertson, a gold medallist at the 2016 Celtic Box Cup in Dungarvan, on a unanimous decision.
She’ll now meet North Korea’s current World and Asian champion Mi Choi Pang, the No. 1 seed, in the last 16 next Tuesday.
“I’m happy with today but Tuesday is a new day and a new opponent,” said Smith after getting Ireland off to a winner on the Mongolian border.
Michaela Walsh, the No. 5 seed in Ulan-Ude, and Amy Broadhurst box Saturday and Sunday.
Meantime, Ireland’s Ben McGarrigle refereed today’s bout between Uzbekistan and Morocco on the opening day of the Championships.
