95 boxers will contest 68 bouts between 6pm on Friday, November 3rd, and the last bout of the tournament, the heavyweight final, on November 11th.
Paul Loonam of St. Carthages and Dylan Eagleson of St. Paul’s, Antrim, will contest the opening bout of the tournament – a Men’s 57kg preliminary.
There are two walkover champions – 48kg Bryce Collins of Holy Trinity and 70kg Shauna Kearney of Bunclody.
There are several straight finals, notably, the meeting of reigning Olympic lightweight champion and Paris Olympian, Kellie Harrington, and Tramore BC’s Zara Breslin.
Another Double Olympian, 75kg Aoife O’Rourke, also has a straight final against Geesala’s Ciara Ginty, a 2014 Youth Olympics and 2018 Women’s World Youth Championships veteran.
There’s a renewal of National Senior Championships rivalries in Men’s 54kg, as Raphoe’s Danny Duffy and St. Colman’s Oisin Worsencroft. At 63kg, Linda Desmond of Rylane meets St. Mary’s Isabella Hughes.
In the Men’s 51kg, European Games athlete, Sean Mari, contests against reigning 48kg Elite champion, Rickey Nesbitt of Holy Family Drogheda.
There are 3 vacant weights, all in the women’s competition – 52kg, 81kg and 81+kg.
