Neilstown Boxing Club, Dublin, has held a festival of boxing to raise money for local families newly arrived in their area after fleeing war in Ukraine.
84 boxers, in all, took part in the card, including boxers travelled from across Ireland and:
Sacred Heart Boxing Club
Westside Boxing Club
Drimnagh Boxing Club
Tipperary Town Boxing Club
St. Brigid’s Boxing Club, Kildare Town,
Cavan Boxing Club
Ballybough Boxing Club
Ballymun Boxing Club.
Neilstown BC has so far raised €2,390, and donations are still being collected.
The club has also confirmed that many of the Ukrainian families invited to the fundraising festival of boxing are to register their children as club boxers.
The club wishes to extend its thanks to all volunteers who assisted on the day including Community Gardai from Neilstown, those who organised transport to and from the club for Ukrainian families and the Neilstown community who strongly supported the fundraiser
