Kellie Harrington is through to the last eight of the Olympics after posting a comfortable win in Tokyo this morning.
The Dublin lightweight beat Italy’s Rebecca Nicoli on a unanimous decision to advance.
Boxing well within herself and switching from orthodox to southpaw on occasion, the No.1 seed took the first round 10-9 across the board.
The second round was closer but Harrington was still finding the target with double jabs and hooks.
The third round also went in her favour, with Harrington again landing the sweeter shots going down the final stretch.
