World Elite champion Kellie Harrington has been shortlisted for the RTÉ Sport 2018 Sportsperson of the Year Award.

The St Mary’s Dublin lightweight claimed World Elite gold and European Elite bronze in 2018.

Harrington, who topped the 60kg podium at the World Elites last month, also won silver at the Nicolae Linca Elite Golden Belt Galati in Romania in September.

The Dubliner won five fights en route to World gold in New Delhi.

Harrington has been shortlisted with 12 other athletes, including current World pro champion Katie Taylor.

Michael Carruth, Barry McGuigan, Michael Conlan and Taylor have won the RTE award in the past.

Darragh Maloney and Joanne Cantwell will present the RTÉ Sport Awards 2018 live on RTÉ One on Saturday 15 December at 9.20pm.
