IABA has delivered the 3rd Youth Leadership Course of the year, this time in Sligo.
16 Sports and Recreation students from Sligo Community Training Centre participated, including boxers from Gateway BC and Ballinacarrow BC.
The programme focuses on leadership development, growing valuable skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
By enhancing leadership and coaching abilities, the program helps participants become effective leaders both their boxing clubs, and in their communities. It aligns with IABA’s goals of nurturing talent and developing Irish boxing.
The programme was first delivered in pilot form alongside the Connacht BG 12 &3 championships in the Hub, Castlerea, on March 29th. Boxers from Castlerea BC, Gateway BC, Drumsna BC and Tobar Pheadair BC, all aged between 14-17 took part in the pilot
The second programme took place in collaboration with Limerick Sports Partnership in April, and was delivered to over a dozen local TY students
