To mark the homecoming from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games of Team Ireland Boxing, IABA is today beginning the rollout of the Paris Wave series of programmes. This is designed to support boxers, coaches and clubs. A total of 5 programmes and events are being launched throughout this week.
Paris Wave – NextGen is being launched today. This programme will support clubs, financially, in responding to growth in member numbers. IABA will provide a total of E80 for the provision of 4 training sessions for new members over a 6-week period, beginning in September. All clubs offer training to multiple age groups and clubs are welcome to make Paris Wave – NextGen applications for several training groups. For example:
Generic Boxing Club has four training groups, but expects to need to create extra training sessions for new members in their pre-competitive group (egg, aged 8 to 10) and in their competitive Youth Group, and in their Adult Beginners group. Generic Boxing Club applies to Paris Wave-NextGen for all three groups, and is approved. It provides 4 training sessions for each group over a six week period. Generic BC completes all of its Paris Wave-NextGen reporting requirements, submits those reports to IABA and receives a total of E240.
