INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2017

The Irish Athletic Boxing Association (IABA) attended today’s function to celebrate International Women’s Day 2017 and Irishwomen in sport at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin.

The IABA,along with representatives from other Irish sports,were guests of the Olympic Council of Ireland and its new President, Sarah Keane.

Bernie Harold, the first female President of a Provincial Boxing Council (Leinster), Irish coach Antoinette Faye, top international referee and judge Sadie Duffy, IABA High-Performance Operations Officer Rachael Mulligan, IABA President and CEO Pat Ryan and Fergal Carruth and London 2012 Olympian Darren O’Neill represented Irish boxing.

“It was a wonderful reception,” said Bernie Harold.“Numerous sports were represented and a number of people outlined the outstanding contributions of women in Irish sport in competition and as coaches and managers and administrators.”
