IABA is delighted to formally welcome Maeve Clarke to her role as Sligo Boxing Development Officer.
Maeve boxed competitively at 48kg for Ballinacarrow Boxing Club. Trained by the Reynolds brothers she is formerly twice Connacht champion, Intermediate Irish champion and three-time elite silver medallist. Maeve’s professional background is in business and has been a club coach for a number of years. She specialises in business relations and coaching teenage girls.
Maeve’s role, an IABA collaboration with Sligo Sports Partnership, includes the delivery of all locally based school, community and club programmes in the Sligo area. She will also facilitate training and capacity building within clubs and communities, thereby developing sustainable local leadership for boxing within communities in Cork.
Maeve’s role is of strategic importance to the IABA in achieving its strategic development programmes goals and enhancing existing professional structures.
