Ireland and Italy renew acquaintances for the second time in 24 hours at the St Brigid’s BC in Edenderry tonight.
Both nations met in a cracking nine-bout international at the same venue last evening with Ireland twice coming from behind to claim a 5-4 win in the first of two schoolgirl internationals.
The talented Italian team won the first bout on Tuesday but Ireland surged 3-1 ahead before the visitors won three on the bounce to lead 4-3 with two bouts remaining.
However, Ireland claimed the final two contests to take a one bout lead going into tonight’s second leg.
Boxing begins at 7.30pm this evening and admission is €5.
