2022 World light middleweight champion, Lisa O’Rourke, has been nominated for an RTE Sport Award.
Lisa, from Castlerea Co. Roscommon, boxes out of Olympic BC, Galway. She has been nominated in the Young Sportsperson of the Year category – fittingly, as she celebrated her 20th birthday during the Women’s World Championships in May.
It’s been an extraordinary year for Lisa – she also won All Ireland U22 gold and European U22 gold.
The Team Ireland boxer is nominated alongside four other athletes: Rhasidat Adeleke, James Culhane, Eve McMahon and Israel Olatunde.
The winner will be announced live on RTÉ One on Saturday night, 17 December, in an awards show presented by Jacqui Hurley, Evanne Ní Chuilinn and Ruby Walsh.
