The weigh-ins for the National Elite Championships are underway at the National Stadium.

The weigh-ins began at 9am and finish at 11am. The draw will be held at 2pm this afternoon and boxing starts at 7pm tonight.

NATIONAL ELITE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017

Venue: National Stadium, Dublin.

Dates: February 3rd, 4th,10th,11th and Finals 17th

Weigh-in:

February 3rd 8.00am to 11.00am
February 4th 8.00am to 9.00am 12.00-1.00pm
February 10th 8.00am to 9.00am. 12.00-1.00pm
February 11th 8.00am to 9.00am 12.00-1.00pm
February 17th 8.00am to 9.00am. 12.00-1.00pm
Entry Fee: €30 Per Boxer payable at weigh-in

Draws:

February 3rd at 2.00pm. Seeding will be in operation

Boxing:

February 3rd at 7.00pm. Other times contingent on entries and will be announced at the draw.

Duration: Duration of rounds- Men & Women 3×3 Minutes

Weights: Men Kg 49-52-56-60-64-69-75-81-91-91+

Women Kg 48-51-54-57-60-64-69-75-81-81+

Age Requirements: Boxers born between 1976 and 1998 and must be pre-entered on attached form.

Entries on the attached official entry form, accompanied by boxers Medical Record Card should be forwarded to reach the undersigned not later than 5.00pm on Wednesday 1st February giving name, date of birth, weight and club and are subject to vetting. Late entries will not be accepted. It is a condition of entry that all competitors and officials have a signed Waiver/Members Acknowledgement Form and adheres to any agreement made with the Association Sponsors.

Attention is called to the stipulation in the IABA Ltd Rule Book that each boxer presented by his or her club should be fit to box. This is the responsibility of the Club.

Males must present themselves clean shaven and all boxers must advise the doctor of any medication they are taking or have taken in the preceding 4 weeks. Anti Doping may be carried out at any stage of the championships. It is imperative that all boxers adhere to the Anti-Doping Rules and Regulations- any queries regarding this matter please contact Mr Larry Morrison Anti-Doping Officer IABA on 0860292476

Non-Pregnancy Declaration forms must be signed.

Attire: Boxers shall have one red and one blue vest. Coaches must wear track suits and runners at all sessions and endeavour to set a high standard of hygiene at all times in the corners no caps/hats are allowed. Boxers must not wear long sleeved shirts under vests. Hair must be tied back and swimming hats should be worn under headgear.

No International Vests to be worn

No Persons Under 18yrs allowed in the Field of Play

No Red, Orange or pink Gum shields.

Sportsmanship: all decisions must be accepted in a sporting manner any complaints must be addressed to the Chief Official Stephen Connolly. Please show respect to all Ringside Officials.
