team as a Female Participation Coach to deliver high quality non-contact boxing sessions in schools and community settings for women and girls in various locations across Northern Ireland

number of women and girls taking part in boxing and increase the number of female members in local boxing clubs. The postholder will work with boxing clubs and boards across Ulster to organise and deliver activities such as ‘Try It’ for women and girls International Women’s Week.

The successful candidate w be highly organised with the ability to multi-task and manage their time in the most efficient way possible. They will also have a high level of verbal and written communication skills. This post is an initial Fixed Term Contract up to October 2025, with the possibility of extension, subject to continuation of funding.

To Apply

To apply please send your CV and a Cover Letter to HR@iaba.ie.

The closing date is 1pm 19th November 2023.

The IABA is an Equal Opportunities employer.

Role Description:

2 days left to register: IABA AGM & EGM

Registration is open for IABA’s Annual General Meeting, and Extraordinary General Meeting on November 11th in the National Stadium, Dublin, from 11am on that morning. A Strategy Forum will take place from 1.30pm on that day – registration for this event, only, is not required.

The AGM will include a ballot on an Ordinary Resolution for increase of Directors to appoint a gender representative Board. This arises as: it is a government target to have 40% female representation in the board membership of national governing bodies of sport. The increase in the number of independent Directors from 2 (two) to 4 (four) is intended to assist in the meeting of these incentives.

39 sporting governing bodies, including the GAA, LGFA, Gymnastics Ireland, Swim Ireland and Hockey Ireland, have achieved this 40% target. Government requires sporting governing bodies to do so by the end of 2023. At present, IABA’s Board of Directors has 17% female representation.

The IABA constitution allows the increase of Directors by Ordinary Resolution by virtue of Object 46 but this amendment to the Constitution is intended to permanently incorporate the increased number of Directors by way of constitutional amendment.  Should the Ordinary Resolution be passed by Voting Delegates, and EGM will take place directly after the AGM to vote on enshrining the Ordinary Resolution in the IABA constitution.
