Boxing Club to feature in RTE documentary, Secrets from the Sidelines.

Jobstown Boxing Club, platformed by IABA, is to feature in a keynote RTE documentary, airing on Monday, October 9th.

Secrets from the Sidelines is a new programme, and examines the highs and lows of the people behind the athletes across a range of sports, including boxing. Jobstown Boxing Club’s Head Coach, Amanda Spencer, and Coach James Gray, shared their experience of setting up and growing the club on RTE Radio One’s 9 O’clock programme – listen back here

Tributes paid to highly respected R&J, Eddie “Star” Cummins.

Tributes have been paid across the Irish boxing family to Eddie “Star” Cummins, on his passing.

Eddie, a Trustee and Treasurer of St. Brigid’s Boxing Club, Edenderry, was also an IBA qualified R&J. He also served as Leinster Provincial Council Secretary

Condolences have been extended by Ulster Boxing Council, County Antrim Boxing Board. His club, St. Brigids, closed for two days as a mark of respect.

This evening, officials at the opening day of boxing at the 2023 National Senior Championships held a moments silence as a mark of respect (pictured).

He was laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, following Funeral Mass this afternoon in St. Mary’s Church, Edenderry. Eddie is survived by his wife Evelyn, children Sarah, John and David, brothers and sisters Bridie, Anne, Susie, Debbie, Alan and Jonathan, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Joe and Elizabeth Payne,
