Dear Members,
Please be advised, the IABA has written to Sport Ireland and Sport Northern Ireland, requesting further clarification in relation to the additional Covid-19 restrictions announced this week. The IABA will endeavour to circulate this information/guidance amongst its membership once we have received official clarification from these state bodies.
We would ask that while we are awaiting official clarification, that all affiliated clubs remain prudent and follow the guidance issued to clubs on Wednesday 19/08/20.
This means that for the time being, boxing clubs MUST continue to limit the number of persons attending indoor training/club event sessions to 6 and for outdoor training/club event sessions the number of persons who can attend is limited to 15. Please be advised this includes coaches and/or support staff. For example, 1 Covid-19 Officer + 1 Coach +4 Boxers or 1 Covid-19 Officer (who is a coach) +5 boxers.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our members for their hard work and cooperation, and to recognise the frustrations being felt by many during these extremely testing times. The present situation we all find ourselves in is unprecedented and has the potential to evolve rapidly. As such, we would ask that all members remain patient and only follow guidance issued from the National Secretary and the National IABA website www.iaba.ie.
