Ireland completed a light training session in Anapa, Russia this afternoon ahead of a full training schedule in the Russian city tomorrow.
The squad arrived in Anapa late last night after a flight from Dublin, an internal flight in Russia and a four-hour coach trip.
Team Ireland will train and spar with some of the World’s top boxing nations in Anapa in the build up to the Pavlyukov Youth Memorial next week.
Meanwhile, the Irish European U/22 squad finish up their training camp at the Institute of Sport in Abbotstown on Thursday.
The panel, which includes current Elite champion Kurt Walker, have been in camp for the last number of weeks under head coach Zaur Antia, Dmitry Dimitruk and Jimmy Halpin.
The European U/22s officially begin in Brăila, Romania on March 13th. Boxing starts on March 14th.
Ireland leave for Romania next Monday.Down lightweight Down Dylan Duffy is enjoying training in Abbotstown.
“I’m just soaking everything up, trying to learn off him (Zaur Antia) and there’s guys who have boxed at major tournaments – the likes of Jordan Moore and Kurt Walker – so it’s good to have guys like that about who have a bit of experience behind them,” he said.
