An Post has commemorated two women of Irish Boxing in a new collection celebrating Ireland’s leading sportswomen, ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8th.
Among the 6 athletes are London Olympic champion, and undefeated world lightweight champion, Katie Taylor, and Tokyo Olympic Champion, Kellie Harrington.
8th Monkstown International Box Cup Opens For Entries.
Entries are now being accepted to the 8th Monkstown International Box Cup. This is an open class tournament for schoolboys/schoolgirls and juniors.
The tournament is organised by Monkstown Boxing Club, with the support of IABA and Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. It begins on Thursday, June 23rd and continues over three days.

Affiliation for the 2022/2023 season is scheduled to commence in April and take place through the Blocworx platform.
IABA is working with Blocworx to make the system more user-friendly and efficient. IABA has also sought the input of county boards and provincial units to contribute to that process.
Clubs who have not been up-dating their new members since the beginning of the season in to Blocworx are advised to begin doing so now – this will ensure that the affiliation process for your club takes as little time as possible.
IABA Ulster Branch Vacancies: Operations Manager, Engagement Officer, Workforce Training & Development Officer
The IABA is recruiting 3 new members of staff for the IABA Ulster Branch to continue the development of Boxing within Ulster.
IABA Ulster Operations Manager
The post-holder will oversee all operations of the IABA Ulster Branch, with the strategic focus on improving and developing boxing within Ulster. The role will work closely with the Ulster Boxing Council and the County Antrim Board, whilst reporting to the IABA. The post will be responsible for the implementation of the IABA Strategic Plan and the Ulster Boxing Council’s Strategy, while also continuing to deliver recommendations of the report of the Independent Working Group Examining Boxing in Ulster. The post will be responsible for all financial, staff and governance management within the Branch and provide governance support to the IABA. The post-holder will seek a variety of funding and other sponsorship and revenue sources to support and increase service development within Ulster.
