TEAM IRELAND ARRIVE HOME FROM EUROPEAN JUNIORS

 

Team Ireland’s medal-laden squad arrived home from the European Junior Championships in Russia via Dublin Airport this afternoon.

The 25-strong squad claimed a highly impressive 13 medals – 2 gold, 3 silver, 8 bronze – in Anapa.

Tipperary’s Elite Mai-Gartland and Kildare’s Lauren Dempsey, pictured below, topped their respective podiums with Ireland finishing in third spot in the medals/rankings table at the 31-nation tournament.

Irish boxing has now claimed 37 medals – 8 of which are gold – from Olympic Youth, World Youth and European Youth/Junior/Schoolboy/girl competition since April of this year.
