Team Ireland hosted a special event on Tuesday evening for the friends and family of Paris 2024 Olympics boxers and support staff. This evening was designed and hosted by the OFI to ensure that are recognised as a key part of boxers’ Olympic journey.

The team also received their #Paris2024 kit, including boxing vest and shorts and their Opening and Closing Ceremony attire.

Minister for Sport, Thomas Byrne and Sport Ireland CEO, Dr. Una May, attended the event, which was addressed by IABA Interim CEO, John Nangle “This is a wonderful occaison for Irish Boxing and the Irish Boxing Family; qualifying the largest team in 64 years is a testament to boxing cultures in clubs and in High Performance. That Team Ireland is one of only 3 countries in the world to have qualified a full women’s team is an extraordinary achievement. Our athletes and our High Performance Unit is the envy of the world, and so richly supported by Sport Ireland, SportNI and the Olympic Federation of Ireland. It’s this collaboration of expertise that makes Team Ireland Boxing such a powerhouse. The Irish Boxing Family is proudly looking forward to celebrating 100 years of the Irish Olympic spirit, and honoring our standing as Irelands most successful Olympic sport by excellence in competition in Paris. Congrats to all team members and contributors to this team, clubs, club coaches and family members.

The evening was also addressed by Team Ireland Chef de Mission Gavin Noble, Olympic Federation of Ireland CEO Peter Sherrard, and High Performance Director, Tricia Heberle.
