Team Ireland poised to begin Harginey Box Cup Campaign.

Team Ireland open their Haringey Box Cup campaign today, with 6 boxers in action.

This is the first time a Team Ireland squad will participate in the tournament, held in the Alexandra Palace from June 16th to 18th. Four rings are in operation and organisers have confirmed that the event will not be live-streamed.

71kg Darragh Gilroy opens Ireland’s account in Ring C’s bout 1, against Patrick Doherty of Fr Horgan’s ABC. In bout 13 of the same ring, 60kg Zara Breslin meets Amalie Garcia of Jennings Gym.

In Ring A, Bout 4, 75kg Joshua Olaniyan takes on Mathew Stewart of Sunderland ABC whilst in Ring B’s bout 5, 48kg Padraig Downey contests against Faluk Hussain of Windmill ABC

In Ring D’s bout 5, 67kg Cian Cramer steps between the ropes against Khya Preston of BCB and in bout 20, 80kg David Kennedy meets Lee Mackin of St Monica’s Boxing Club.
